Bath time battles

Help! I have a five year old and a two year old. Every night is a battle to get them into the bath and then a battle to get them washed and a battle to get them out of the bath. Otherwise they are pretty well behaved and generally delightful. But it is doing my head in. Tips and tricks for peaceful bath time ? I get back from work 530 by which time they have had supper and bed time is about 730. Help!!

How about a shower instead on work nights.

Stand under the water, quick scrub and shampoo on then out. Takes me no more than 5 minutes with 2 kids and they barely have chance to moan Smile

Shower would be my choice too. When it's time to get out you just turn the water off. They soon get cold and want to get out I'm mean If your shower allows it then turn the pressure right down if they aren't used to showers. I've found the higher pressure (and associated noise) scared my DCs initially. Mine are lifted up and allowed to press the button to turn it on/off if good, which they both love doing.

On the bath front, no idea how to (happily) get them in if they don't want to as mine love a bath, but if they won't get out I let all the water out so again they get a bit chilly and want their warm fluffy towels.
How about no toys in the bath until they're washed for speeding up the scrubbing?

Good ideas. Thank you.
