Keeping clothes clean

Not quite sure what I'm asking here but DS gets his clothes filthy - food stains, paint at nursery etc They don't always come out in the wash, do you chuck clothes when they get like this or let them wear them stained still?

Personally - I have nursery clothes that he mostly just wears, despite the stains (he only goes 2 days a week though)

I have a few large bibs for eating anything messy like pasta with sauce, they are full covering arms and all. Got them from Ikea.

And yes if it won’t come out with soaking and stain remover then it gets relegated to nursery wear or thrown out.

So a few stains (albeit washed) are ok for nursery?

Washed stains are definitely ok for nursery.
Most orange/yellow food based stains - tomato/ vegetable sauces can be removed be leaving clothes in sunlight.

Have you tried using Napisan?

Abetes · 20/02/2018 20:23

Yes definitely. Have clothes for messy days and clothes for other days. No-one will bar an eyelid if he goes to nursery in clothes that are a bit stained as they will quickly be covered in more paint/water/sand etc. That’s what nursery is for - experimenting.

Yep paint and soup stains go back to nursery. I'd be buying new clothes every week otherwise!!

Never tried napisan before but will give it a go Smile

Yes, definitely sent DD to nursery in lightly stained clothes!

Yes, and even in year 2. DS 6 isn't the tidiest eater, and they have them painting without aprons or old t-shirts on, he also seems to manage to get felt pen on his shirts, I'd get through nearly 2 packs of shirts a week if I threw them out every time.

Thanks everyone xx
