Visiting DH’s family, DD hates going

Not sure what to do right now, we’re going to stay in DH’s hometown from tomorrow till Sunday. DD is less than a month off turning 4 and she hates sleeping in a different bed or leaving the house for more than a day or two. We don’t live too far from my family so we usually drive up there for a day or they’ll come down to us. She doesn’t even want me to pack her clothes right now, I’ll probably just do it when she’s asleep... I don’t think I can stand a 4 hour car ride of “i want to go home” not to mention about 5 days of the same. The in laws only seem to have the impression that she’s a miserable little girl that has tantrums every other hour when she’s completely different at home. I just need something for her to get excited about and she might forget that she was meant to be sulking. I’m at the point where I might just bribe her with chocolate the whole time Haha

Is there something fun nearby you can arrange to go to? Something like a zoo or a really good park?

Is it possible for the in laws to come to you next time?

When we went in holiday I always let my daughter have a small rucksack she could pack what she wanted to take.
It was usually a teddy a book and crayons and a colouring book. And she got to keep her special bag safe on the journey and while we where away.

My kids just love their routines also and hate change. Good luck
