can't settle dd - 2 hrs of struggle before she sleeps after night feed

any ideas? she flails about and sobs. the only way she is content is on her tummy and i just don't dare.

How old is she? My dd1 was like this until the age of 16 weeks or so.

I would hold her face down, so there was gentle pressure on her tummy, and walk up and down with her.

Maybe you could try swaddling.

6 weeks; it is the pressure on the tummy that is the magic ingredient. swaddling doesn't really help, though a grobag keeps her asleep once shedoes actually succumb ...

sorry I didn't get back to you earlier.

What about putting her on you, tummy to chest, with you lying down?

Cranial osteopaths can sometimes help, particularly if she had a difficult birth.

I think I'll try that belgo, thanks; she sometimes settles on my shoulder so on my chest should be better even. Provided i can stay awake she shouldn't come to any harm, hopefully.
