Sling etc for one year old???

In desperate need of help!

My back is in agony from carrying my one year old everywhere. Where we live there is no parking so have to park down the road, I also have a 3 year old and because of steps and being by a busy road I also have to hold his hand and it's getting near impossible to get in and out with carrying her.

Is there any type of sling etc suitable for a one year old that would help ease the pressure on my back? Hopefully one that's easy to get on and off as it's mainly for getting too and from the car.

How big is your 1 year old? Something with buckles is probably easiest. I rate the Connecta. If your DC is big the toddler size would be better. I sometimes carry my 3.7yo in the toddler connecta, or even sometimes in the old Ergo (she's a bit big for the Ergo but it sure beats a hip carry) Go to a local sling library if you have one, or if not try an online hire itsaslingthing.co.uk

Something like this

Another vote for the Connecta. My youngest is 13 months and still in the baby rather than toddler one, although would buy the toddler one I I was just starting to use it at this stage.

I have a toddler Tula, happily carried my 3 year old all round Disney in it! It’s v similar to a connecta, but a wider range of patterns. I got (both) my Tulas from it’s a sling thing, linked above.

Definitely much easier than carrying in your arms as the weight is even distributed across your core

For just getting to and from the car, I'd get a boba air. For anything more, a normal boba. They're great.

Dp and I carried dd in beco gemini until she was well beyond 2. You can back carry too. The others mentioned above are great too. Check if you've got a local sling library to try some out.

I carry my 18 month old in a lillebaby carrier. They do a toddler version but I have the one from birth.

Do you have a sling library near you? I fancy Rose and Rebellion but haven't tried it yet.
