Wam-bamboos: Nippa vs Aplix

I've been delighted with my nippa wambamboos, which I have used on my 6 week old son from birth. I do need some more and was wondering whether I should go for Aplix this time. I don't know if they will fit from birth, or if you can use nippas on them to get a snugger fit while the baby is still tiny (I fold over the front of the nappy at present). Just as thought as I watched a friend put a nappy on a squirmy 1 yr old who was standing up/trying to escape - nippas would be tricky.

Thanks for your thoughts

just had a look at a size 2 aplix and not sure it would work as the aplix would catch on the fabric and cause deterioration over a period of time if using it as birth to potty with a nippa and without a nippa I don't think the fit would be good on a small baby. How about the popper versions, you could use that as birth to potty by foldind down front and using a nippa to secure

I have size 2s with applix but on both the girls tend to use nippa anyway. As for the squirmy one yr old you give them something to hold[usually a spare fleece liner here] while you faff, you also get very quick at doing the nappies[girn]

I have had a size 2 aplix folded down, but its not ideal - the aplix waist bit gets all bulky, and the tabs catch on the fabric.

Once you have spent the next 11 months nippa-ing nappies you will be fine at gettin em on a wriggler

Popper wam bamboos! That must be new! If aplix is a no-go, I will try a popper one first. Failing that, I'll stick with nippas. Thanks.

I ordered some aplix wbb's (after I'd used the nippa ones) and absolutely hated them, sent them back for nippas. I just thought the aplix was really inflexible & wld rub on his tummy. Popper sounds good though.

Do you think that there are enough popper options to use a size 2 from birth, or would you nippa it instead initially? I quite like the poppers on the Motherease airflow, but had the impression a snug fit is not the point there (for the airflow bit). My boy does some explosive poos at times!

Airflows are wraps, so don't need the snug containment aspect. The size 2 poppers would be too big from birth as it comes up far too high and you would have big gaping leg holes, hence folding down and nippaing.
