Our son (Whois our third child) seems to dislike his cot with passion. If he does, by some miracle, nap in it during the day, it's for around 20 minutes. I can get him to nap for longer but only if I go back into him every few minutes to give him his dummy who hold his hand etc. If I put him in his bouncer he can nap for over an hour ( I know this isn't recommended). This wasn't necessarily a problem until a week ago because he would sleep ok during the night. He'd wake up between 3 and 4 am, feed have a nappy change and would instantly settle back down to sleep. All of a sudden however, he wakes at 1 not for a feed, just a grizzle and a moan but enough to wake us up. He'll then wake at 3ish for a feed and now it takes about 20 minutes to settle him back. He then wakes at about 5.30. We don't feed him until about 7-8am and even then he mainly plays with his bottle so he's not overly hungry.
Has anyone got any tips for encouraging him to sleep through until his 3am feed again? It seems he doesn't like the space the cot provides and his startle reflex frequently wakes him. Is there anything I can buy that can create a safe sort of 'nest'? He's way too big to go back in his Moses basket.
