How often should an almost 8 month old nap?

Every baby is different but by 8 months, mine was usually having two naps a day, mid-morning and mid-afternoon, about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours each, depending.

Mine is mostly 2 per day if one is longer than 45 min.

He had 1 hour at 8 this morning but had only slept 9-6 (no, not through) so that was more topping up his night.

2 x 20 min in the car each way to and from my parents and then 40 min this afternoon.

But that's more short naps than what i'm coming to think of as 'usual' or 'optimal'

My DD is 9mo and she usually has two naps a day, late morning and early afternoon for about 45-60 minutes, today she chose not to have a morning nap because she slept in until 8am (yayyyyy) but then by 1:55 she was flat out and didn’t wake until 3:45! Try not to stress too much about naps, try to get a rough routine in place but be lenient and make exceptions when neccisary :)
