Night weaning cold turkey

Help!! Baby is 15 month old.... only slept through the night a handful of times! Was just 1 feed a night now crept up to waking 4 times a night and muggins here can be awake for a couple hours a night.... does she need a little cold turkey? Or do I need to man up? Working and dealing with broken sleep is slowly killing me.

Wow @jkl0311...I'm impressed. I've been threatening it for ages! Think tonight will be the night. I've had no nights off and she'll be 1 in a week. I'm off work now till Tuesday so that gives me a bit of time to be sleep deprived thru the day. It's just so easy to to do when you're in a sleep fog in the middle of the night. Wish me luck.

@MissOrganisedMe that's exactly what I thought it's easier, it sort of pushed me as I've injured my back and getting her out the cot is the worse for me, I have a Fitbit and I used to go bad at 9/10 and rarely get more than 6 hours sleep now this week I'm up to 8 and what a difference it's made me feel in the day!! Let me know how it goes? Remember you just got to stick it out, pat shh in there belly/back/thigh they go off eventually!!

I dream feed at 10.30-11pm before I go to bed, and my 6 month old sleeps through the night (6-6) just with the dream feed. Any other wake ups is cuddles only. Have you tried a dream feed?

FloralSocks · 24/02/2018 19:47

Sorry just noticed you’ve already got a happy ending Blush congrats!

I went cold turkey with my dd when she was 14 months, she was definitely waking as habit and wanting milk more and more. Took 3 nights, first night pretty awful, 2nd night better and third night just a little pat and back to sleep, now she reliably sleeps through and is much easier to settle if she does wake . It's hard to do but worth, I don't think I could have done it any younger tjkugb

@jkl0311 nope. I didn't. She's not been well. Bloody nursery germs! She's not getting out the bit at all to be honest. BUT, I do think she sleeps better in her own bed. We wake each other up, I think so I'm going to work on that..... It's the transfer that's the bother.

@MissOrganisedMe that's the worst is picking a few nights that we aren't snotty, I made the wrong choice and done the first night then went to work.... it almost killed me! Pick your moment but I promise it will pay off, I've got a snotty sue that's been rough all week and amazingly sleeping better than any other cold we have had. It's making such a difference to my wellbeing.... you can see how no2 baby happens Grin
