6yo dd is begging for Bratz stuff, "all my friends have them".

I've said no as they look horrible, too much makeup, hooker clothes, etc.

Am I been unreasonable and out of touch or am I right to say no?

No Bratz in this hourse either. We have Barbie, etc. but hate Bratz. Luckily 5yo DD also thinks they are ugly, even though her friends do have them.

I prefer them to poncey wussy Barbie with her unattainable body shape.

I said no for ages but somehow they still got them! When other people buy them I find it impossible to say 'no' then.

I hate them and have always refused to buy any Bratz stuff for DD1 (9). However, her dear stepmother buys her Bratz stuff ALL the time (the woman is not known for her taste). Sure she only does it becaused she suspects I won't like it .

I think I have won dd over though as she had loads of Bratz stuff from said stepmother for her birthday just gone and she was seriously underwhelmed - said she doesn't like them anymore.

Completely agree with you. Hoping my daughter won't get one for her 6th this week, have even said to a parent who was asking for ideas for a present 'NO Bratz please'
