Not sure if this is what is happening to the baby, and how long it lasts. He will be 6 weeks on Friday. Since last week, he started having those outbursts of hunger, where he would start having 5 ounces (usually he has 2-3 ounces) at some times. And then, all of a sudden, two nights back his feeds all of a sudden decreased to sometimes as little as one ounce, but then he is obviously hungry a lot sooner. he used to wake up 3-4 times a night or so, every 2-3 hours, for the past 2-3 nights he is taking an ounce and then falls asleep, and then wakes up an hour later for more. During the day he also has less than last week, so around 70-80 ml.
The whole night and today I have had to hold him in my arms. He usually sleeps well in baby box and his cot, but since last night the moment I put him away, no matter how long I hold him on my chest, he wakes up immediately and cries. I have had no sleep in the last 18 hours... He sleeps happily on me, but it's just so difficult...
Is that the growth spurt? How long could it last?
