Hi all,

So my DD has always been a bit of a grumpy baby... below is her routine:

6am Wake up with bottle
9am sleep with bottle (half an hour to an hour and a half)
Snack on waking up
12 lunch
1 bottle and nap (hour and a half)
4 Dinner
5 bath, books, plays with toys
6 bottle and bed (sometimes doesn’t sleep till 7)

She sleeps through the night without a feed and on average gets 2/3 hours worth of naps a day.

She doesn’t crawl, know her name, say mama/ dada....

Doesn’t like to play with toys by herself, I sit with her. I do go out with her every day... sometimes just for a walk.. she is just as unhappy out of the house, if not worse!!

What am I doing wrong, feel like the worst mum!

Oh and food wise, she has wheetabix for breakfast, lunch is usually toast with marmite, jacket potato cheese and beans or sandwhich and dinner is whatever we’re having.

Hi

Doesn't seem like tired or hunger. My first was very grumpy until she could crawl - then got some freedom and cheered up! My second has got grumpy since he has started crawling but he is getting teeth late, has had lots of colds recently and tends to be constipated.

Does she play with other babies /children much? That always seems to cheer mine up or at least distract! Mine is now 10 months old- doesn't sleep very well at all so I am very Jel of that!

X

I do go to a sensory class once a week which she loves but that’s because it’s constant singing etc. Maybe it’s a frustration thing... feels like she’s not going to be crawling for another couple of months though!

What's the problem? Her routine looks good and she sleeps and naps well. My 11 month old doesn't crawl yet so wouldn't worry about that. If you explain the issue you're having people might be able to help.

Maybe she just isn't excited by the world? Grin Not every baby has to be all singing and dancing constantly. Her personality seems very laid back and chilled out. She wakes up for the day and spends it eating and lounging about. I'm jealous!

Really though OP there is nothing to worry about. Babies are boring, in a year or two you'll be looking back on this thread thinking 'I wish my child would shut up and sit for for half an hour again' GrinGrin

Frustration maybe?

She’s quite whiny, moany and clingy...

By the sounds of things, hopefully she’ll be better once she’s on the move!!
