I'm sorry I had to share this some where & let's face it not many people will care but my daughter was 7 months old 4 days ago & she just stood up, took 3 steps then stopped still standing smiling at me!! I am so shocked!! She has been really grizzly the last few days & I read this can happen when they're approaching a mile stone! So funny!! Even funnier she cannot crawl for toffee! ConfusedHmm

Bless her heart, you must be one proud mumma :)

Very clever!

Be warned though, my DD started walking unaided at 8.5 months (was taking a couple of steps like you describe at 8 months) and although physically capable she wasn't 'emotionally' ready to walk in terms of depth perception, basic risk assessment etc that other babies who go through the normal motions of properly mastering crawling etc first learn in a safer way.

She had lots of nasty tumbles and accidents as a result and short of hovering over her constantly there wasn't much I could do to prevent it. It was a really stressful few weeks (around 8) where she got to grips with it.

7 months?! Wow! My 8 month old has only just started crawling and frequently ends up on his face. To be fair though his brother didn't crawl until 11mo so I already think this one is a genius Grin

Smurfy23 · 05/02/2018 19:53

Wow! How exciting!!

Desmondo2016 · 06/02/2018 08:02

My friends little one crawled at 4 months and walked at 7.5 . Now, at 14 months when the rest of the group are starting to walk, he's still massively advanced physically and can run and climb like a 2 year old.

Cool!

Get on you hands and knees and look at everything she can now reach! Time for door catches, please put you coffee cup up very high. Also do you have a fire hearth or coffee table because you need a guard to stop her bashing her head and remove the coffee table until she is stable.

Good luck my early walker was covered in bruises for 6 weeks or so

Ilovemybaby91 · 06/02/2018 18:13

Yep I'm about child proofing everything now... I don't have a table but she bashed her head today (day 2 of thinking she can walk!!) on her grandads coffee table.. not too bad, bit red but boy did she cry! I'm not looking forward to the injuries she's bound to sustain Sad no leaving her alone for a second now... this mamas life just got harder!! GrinHmm

They are so fab and cute when they walk so early! My dd3 had incredibly bandy legs from weight bearing so early, her bones weren't ready at all (perfectly straight by 3 though). She is still 100 miles an hour, and cannot sit still. She walked at 8 months.

Any why crawl when you can run!

The funniest was the somewhat snotty lady in Clarks who refused to even size her feet (I was only after cruisers, not hard soles), until I got her out of the buggy and she toddled off.

lonely I told a few people at baby group today & im sure they didn't believe me!! I wanted to get the video out as proof!! Grin they do look too little to be doing it though so I can understand the doubting!!
