Little girls and crop tops

Before I had my 7yo DD, I thought crop tops were not appropriate for little girls.

Today, I bought a set of two for DD, because I felt it would encourage her to be safe, by reminding her that the parts of her body covered by underwear are private.

Hubby doesn't agree, he thinks it sexualises children.
BTW they are plain white cotton.

You mean the underwear crop tops? Why not just put a vest on her?

FannyWisdom · 03/02/2018 19:17

Vest?

Like a half vest? If she wants one to cover up crack on I say.

Honestly only adults can sexualise children. A child could wear anything and they wouldn't appear sexual to any normal person. Because they are children.

At 7, her in developed chest is not sexual at all. As a previous poster has said only others can sexualise her. Have you taugher her about consent, in a generic way and allowed her to make her own choice about her body eg Choice of clothes and the NSPCC underwear rule?
