Costume ideas needed!

So I am absolutely hopeless at arts and crafts, I can’t paint, draw, sew and make anything that resembles what it’s supposed to.

I have less than a week to sort a costume for DS to wear to school. It has to be based on fairytales and he has decided to go as the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk. I don’t want to spend too much money but I can’t make anything as it will look rubbish. Please give me ideas! The best I can do at the moment is to buy him a plaid shirt and green trousers and try and make him a beard.

Make him a tiny Jack! And maybe drape some paper ‘beanstalk’ around him (strips of green paper, some paper leaves - get him to paint the paper green).

Some biggish boots that will fit over his normal shoes will work well. Worked for my DS when he was wee, gave him a bit of a 'stompy' walk but added to the effect, iyswim... YY to a tiny Jack to carry, or pinned to his shoulder etc.
