8 month old fighting sleep!

Hi all,

So I’m starting to feel like I’m losing the plot.

My 8 month old has never been good at naps (occasionally falling asleep on bottle/rocked/pram/car/ self settle) whatever works really but has always been fine with bedtime as we had a bath, book, bottle and bed routine which never failed.

For the past three weeks, she’s SCREAMING every time I put her in her cot. Bedtime is taking two hours and nap times are happening in the pram.

What can I do?!

Just ride it out. It's normal around this age. It's usually a combination of separation anxiety and a huge developmental leap related to mobility (crawling, standing, cruising). My dh and I pretty much ate in shifts so we each got to have dinner and a chance to sit down and decompress for 30 minutes and then we'd switch back over. Bedtime took about 2 hours for maybe a month, month and a half. For us, it was around 8.5 months and then settled down by 10 months and became a breeze. We didn't really do anything but wait it out and just try to get through it.

Thank you so much for your reply.

8 month seems to be a tricky age on all angles at the minute.
