Teeth - where are they?!

DS will be 2 in a month and only has 11 teeth. 4 across the top, 3 across the bottom and his 4 pre-molars. All his little friends at nursery have a full mouthful of teeth and have done for some time now. Since his pre-molars came through all at once a few months ago he hasn’t had any signs of teething and I can’t see any under his gums looking like they’re going to come through soon.

At what age should I be concerned about this? Did anyone else’s children grow their teeth so slowly? Should I take him to the dentist? He came with me last time I went and the dentist had a quick look and said ok fine but that was about six months ago now.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

He should be going to the dentist every 6 months, so ask again.

My nearly 2 year old has 12 1/2 teeth. I am not worried as they keep appearing.

Ds’s Teeth also came slowly, but they did all come! I voiced similar concerns to my dentist when he (DS) was 2 ish, and he told me not to be so daft, had I ever met an adult whose teeth had n’t come through? I guess it’s not something you really talk about! Possibly slightly paranoid since my wisdom teeth didn’t come through.

Thanks. I have a dentist appointment in about a month so I'll take DS with me again and ask the dentist to have another quick look at him.
Bike I have no wisdom teeth either! My DM can't remember when my teeth came through but I do remember my baby teeth fell out late - the first one not until 7 and I lost the last one at 16! So maybe it's a weird inherited thing?
