Hello, I want to spread the word that the Glasgow Steiner playgroup runs regularly at the Scout hall on Ripon Drive, Kelvindale 10-12 on Thursdays. I've been going with my nearly 3 year old daughter for over a year and we both love it. There is a lovely Steiner teacher who leads it with support from the wonderful volunteer and with input from the parents and children who help out. There is a regular structure which I think helps the children to settle and gain confidence and it has a playful, fun and calm atmosphere. We start usually by making bread together or sometimes crafts. Then we play with the toys or go outside to the garden or sandpit. We are lured inside by the smell of freshly baked bread and sit together to eat a delicious snack of fresh bread, rolls, fruit, tea and water. It is a homely and accepting environment. After snack we close the session with songs. We have both enjoyed it very much and hope a Steiner Kindergarten will be developed soon so my daughter can move into it when she's a bit older. There are details on the Glasgow Steiner facebook page or message me and I'll pass on contact details :)
