At what age would you/did you leave your kid home alone whilst you popped two mins to the shop for a bottle of milk?

At what age would you/did you let your kid walk to and from school alone?

At what age would you/did you let your kid have a phone?

At what age would you/did you let your kid have a tele in their room?

At what age would you/did you leave your kid alone in the bath whilst you quickly tidied up or something?

Can't remember, 4 maybe?

There is no right age for any of that stuff though, depends on the child and their environment.

Alone for 2 mins - 7
Walk to school - we’re not in walking distance but school lets them from year 5
Get a phone - 11
TV in bedroom - never
Bath - 3

Around 8 for me to pop to the shop.

School thing depends. Eldest was 7 (year 3) as we lived so close. Then we moved and he school was further over busy roads, so year5/6.

Phone fir secondary, so 11.

Mine have never had a tv in their room. We only have one in the living room.

I guess around 4ish to leave them in the bath.

It all depends on the child though. I'm just going to pick my 15 yo up as he can't walk home on his own. So he hasn't got a phone. And I can't leave him on his own either.

I’ve never left them alone to pop to the shop but then to go to the nearest shop and back again would be a round trip of 30 mins ish. They’re always happy to come so it’s never come up.

They don’t walk to school but they’ve been walking other places alone from 8yo.

They will get a phone at 11-12.

They will never get a TV in their own rooms, I think it’s bad for sleep hygiene. We don’t have one either.

I can’t remember how old for the bath. Possibly 5yo but they were never completely “alone” as they always shared.

No shop nearby but I would leave DS (asleep) to post a letter - four minute walk - at 6 months - we lived very rurally.

School - walked alone at 10 (difficult route) - although once walked to playschool on his own at 3 (just walked out of the house and down the road Blush).

Phone - when he got to secondary school.

No TVs in bed rooms.

Bath - I would potter around upstairs when he was around 2.

All from memory as he is 17 now. Grin.

Pop to shops, 6 years or so if awake, occupied and happy to be left. Shop extremely close. People have bigger gardens.

Walk to school, 7/8. Not a difficult route. Lollipop lady. For the more roads route, 8/9.

Phone, secondary.

No TVs in any bedrooms, at any age.

Bath, if singing, 4-5.

Left at home maybe 8 or 9 depending on maturity and willingness.
Walk to school and phone will be together at the start of secondary school (primary school is a drive away)
Tv in room, as late as possible as I'm not a fan!
Bath... Around 3.5-4 but I was pottering nearby. 5 before I'd come downstairs for five minutes.
