So how many poos before you start to worry? (TMI)

So, DD is 5mo and she's always been a normal pooer - yellow, smooth, runny 1-2 times a day.

5 days ago she started pooing 8+ times a day, tiny green/yellow mustard seedy poos, including at night. And her sleep is terrible, was up 7 times the night before last, and really hard to settle (1hr sometimes), last night better.

None of the usual suspects seem conclusive:

  1. teething - no excessive dribbling, no visible red gums, happy in herself
  2. Weaning - had a taste of cucumber and pear before this started, some carrot and broccoli around the time it started (blw so hardly any), and bits of porridge and other veg but have gone days without any food and no change
  3. Milk - she's had her first 2 bottles of formula this week but after the poos got dodgy (bottles sterilised correctly etc)
  4. Tummy bug - her older sister had a temp and was sick a couple of times since Thursday, but there are no other symptoms apart from weird poos and poor sleep, she really doesn't seem ill. She's had D&V before, this is not that.

Any ideas??!

I would book an appointment with your GP or ring your HV for advice. A change in usual poos should always be checked out but usually nothing to worry about. Try not to worry.

Thanks Dizzy, called HV and suggested virus to her as most likely. She agreed and advised unless dd starts to seem off colour or not feeding it's ok. I'll see gp if lasts another week just annoying changing poos in the middle of the night

Both my ds have had a tummy bug. The toddler did lots of vomiting. The baby ws sick once, but 3 days so far of very odd poo. He's been fine in himself, just really unpleasant poops!
