Not sure what it is about me. But I am longing for a friend. Had a crisis today and say in my car in the snow sobbing because I had nowhere to go. What may surprise you is I have a blessed life with 2 beautiful children and a hard working hubby . But please don’t think I don’t know how lucky I am .

Do you ever remember feeling alone , well even with a family and job that’s great I am feeling so alone . I just want someone who will be there for me . A Bestie who’s cuddle me and tell me everything’s okay

Bless you Thanksare you ok now? Did you find somewhere to go in the end? I think friendships become really tricky as you get older and have kids. I'm kind of in the same boat... Lots of "friends" but nobody close. It's hard isn't it?

You're not alone. I feel the same.

How old are the children? Can you join something with them? If you take them to activities can you start chatting with the parents? My DD met one of her best friends at her son's football practice. Exercise class or evening class? Can you contact any old friends you have not seen for a while and arrange to meet? Good Luck Smile

So still billy no mates joined my son up to new club but no one close my age around there . Off to stables with my daughter next week try again then. Husband away working and feeling sorry for myself again as one to invite round for coffee . Thankyou for all comments . Wish no one else felt this way but good to know I’m not alone

Am 45 too and pretty isolated. Have lots of acquaintances and some old friends that I have grown apart from but no one I could call if I needed a shoulder to cry on. Quite sad really.

I think this is the worst age to be at.

Another wave ~. 46 and no friends or family, just me, dh + dc. See nobody at work either so no colleagues even! Even joined Mush but all so much younger so didn't bother.
