3 year old behaviour making me go crazy. Help

I just don't understand what's the matter with my 3 year old. Why doesn't she listen to any instructions or commands we give her. Everything is a battle getting out of the house, getting dressed, EATING, bathing and even playing. I'm sick to death of constantly making pointed finger threats of how I will take this and that away if she doesn't do this or that. She just doesn't listen. Doesn't care.

She goes through phases of being amazing and so happy and content and then we have phases like now where she is an absolute nightmare and she tantrums form the min she wakes up to the min she sleeps.

I ask her to nicely say hello and goodbye to people when they come over and it turned into a meltdown tonight because she wanted to carry on playing with something in the living room.

AHH. Rant

No real advice, but here to sympathise. Our 3.5 old is driving me and my husband crazy. Very similar to yours, doesn't listen and everything is a battle. We have just had a second child, so a lot could be linked, but he has always been willful, and his bossyness is driving my DH spare. I'm trying to follow DS lead so as not to cause unnecessary tantrums, but am worried appeasing him is leading to greater expectation that he can always be in control. It's hard to know the line (of course anything unsafe, or life essentials such as getting dressed before we go out are a given.... And lead to lots of showing off and bad behaviour). Let's hope its all another phase!
