Three and a half month old suddenly not sleeping

My DS is three and a half months old, EBF and I've been showing off for a while about what a great sleeper he is (last feed about midnight, and sleeps until 6 or 7am, quick feed, and sleeps until 9 or 10)

Lately he has been waking up every two hours in the night, not his usually little squeaks, but screaming and crying and is very hard to settle down again. It's sad to see and also exhausting!

Any ideas what might be the cause?

Welcome to the 4 month sleep regression

It's how a lot of people end up on mumsnet...

Sounds like DD3. Was a doddle from the night we brought her home, until about 16 weeks!

Having a baby would be so much more enjoyable if they just slept for 12 hours a night. Help Me help You and all that eh?

4month regression -my DD is just out of it 5.5 months .....it’s worse than the newborn wake ups because it felt like I should be more on top of it Flowers

Definitely karma

We had similar. Slept beautifully (6-7 hours) from 4 to 12 weeks. Thought we'd cracked it. Then BOOM, sleep regression.

We sorted it at 11 months with sleep training. Good luck!
