My 9 yr old goes at roughly 7:45 and reads until 8:15 unless I think she seesm tired and then she goes straight to sleep.

My friend sends her 9 and 11yr old dc to bed late, after 9 on school night and going on 11 at the weekend. They are tired out and look it - I think a 9 year old should go at 8:00 to 8:15 even if they read abit they should be in bed by then.

My 9 year old goes to bed at 8 o'clock and then reads for 20 mins.

some children need more sleep than others though i think don't they?

Lights out for my 9yo at 9pm every night, including weekends.
Works fine for us.

My children are 8 and 10, and generally go to bed between 7pm and 8pm.

apparently it's because he likes to watch the bill that he goes to bed at 9

he is tired out everytime i see him.Just wanted to see what the general concensus is

My ds1 is almost 10.

He gets about 9.5 hours sleep, which is right for him atm. A year ago he did need significantly more sleep though.

If he is always tired then he should go to bed earlier. If he wasn't tired then it would be okay.
