ds is just 2 and telling me he doesn't want to have nappies on, when he wants to pee he tells me and he does quite a few in the potty, we can't always get cloth nappy off in time. he wears pants sometimes but i've decided to bite the bullet, earlier than i would have wished but if he is unhappy with a wet bum, all to the good! However, he goes to a childminder 1.5 days a week and not sure what to do then - are trainer pants worth it or do I just see if she minds risking it and giving her lots of extra clothes! don't want to confuse him but know i will need to put nappies on sometimes. (thankfully he has done all poos in potty since 18 months so i don't have any worries there!) If he is ready how long will it take - am quite happy to put him back in nappies if he is not physically ready, just want to know how i will know iyswim

I'm a childminder and would be happy to follow mums lead but if DS was having accidents all the time pull ups might be good!!

ok so been trying training since thursday with pretty good success rate - about 4 accidents in 5 days, mostly due to me not listening to ds! however, it all went pearshaped at childminder today when he wet himself 5 times, one of which was whilst standing on doorstep with dh as he collected him! childminder thinks ds thinks he can get away with it with her as he took months before he stopped pooing in nappies with her! either that or he just gets more distracted! is this common? i am not blaming her in anyway whatsoever as i know it is early days and am prepared to go back to nappies if need be. i don;t want to get cross with him but am wondering about using a small reward, even when just at her house? any tips? ta.
