Ran out of Nutramigen

Hi all,
My LO was put on Nutramigen on Thursday for CMPA, we where told to try her on one tin and then if she takes it tell them!

We did tell them, she hates the taste but took small bits at a time!

Long story short we have ran out and can't get the rest until Monday! I have Aptamil Pepti left from last week!
Can I give her this until Monday? Or will it make things really bad!

HELP Confused

it's not ideal, how about posting a plea on local Facebook sites, I'm sure someone would be willing to help you out with a spare

TaggySits · 14/01/2018 07:52

Where are you? I've some if you're anywhere near me. You could try the emergency chemist and ask them for a tin to see you through.

TheSameCoin · 14/01/2018 07:54

It’s expensive but you can but it from pharmacies. So I suggest you either go to the pharmacy that dispensed it and buy a tin or try and get an out of hours appointment and another prescription.

You might be able to buy it online and get next day shipping? Or as people have said you can sometimes buy it. My LO was on this too, it's very special!

I'm not n Widnes (near Liverpool) I will try the FB suggestion thank you!

I could kill the pharmacy they told me they would have it in stock for the weekend but apparently they "forgot" to place the order 😡

Thank you everyone for the responses.x

I really wouldn't if you can help it as you will be back to square one in terms of working out what is wrong. You can buy it over the counter. More expensive than normal formula but if you figure that from now on you will get all the formula on prescription so this will be the last tin you have to buy. There should be an emergency chemist somewhere, often those in supermarkets are open all Sunday trading hours or Boots.

How old is she? Ours refused it but they were older and just had food and calcium supplements. Not ideal but they were bf beyond 12 months.

TaggySits · 14/01/2018 08:01

I ran out when on holiday (had underestimated and didn't pack enough) but was able to buy a tin at the chemist. As long as you can get through until the chemist opens you'll be fine.

Sparklyuggs · 14/01/2018 08:04

I paid £16 for a tin last year. Tesco pharmacies tend to have it in my experience but it's worth putting out a plea on a local FB group.

Scrumptiousbears · 14/01/2018 08:07

I agree with trying FB. My sister had loads of this stuff and couldn't give it away.

All sorted, rang 111 who have faxed a script to pharmacy near by :)
