Well...poop.

DS is 13w old and started out on aptamil/bm combo. Poops were fine.

Then he went onto Aptamil full time. Pooping once every three days, dark green grey poop, smelled like burnt tyres.

So we changed him to HIPP Organic full time. Poops a better colour but still only one movement every 48hrs, he gets backed up and severely unhappy after 36hrs and his poops are thick like actual clay. They are mostly normal colour but big streaks of grey/green.

We suspect he may have a milk sensitivity as opposed to an allergy. But I’m canvassing for your stories as I’m struggling to work out if he’s just a baby that’s a “stiff pooper” or if something does seem really awry.

Tell me tales of your baby poop challenges x

Streaks could be mucus (have a Google search for it and compare) it sounds like constipation perhaps with sensitivity (green) or excessive dribbling, teething may also cause mucus.

Hipp organic was our favourite after we found aptamil to be a big issue for DD. I don't know what it is but DD didn't agree with aptamil much at all but hipp was kindest to her tummy. You need to give it at least 2 weeks to settle down. DD had gone days without going, had a clear out and then all was regular and normal after.

DD has CMPA, is combi fed and poos used to stink before formula changed to special make.

When you say it was kindest to her tummy do you mean she still disagreed with it and ended up on the special milk nonetheless? X

I'm not sure if this is fact or just circumstance but I found whenever my DS was backed up (and happened a lot in those combi/formula days) I would give him a carton of the ready made milk - about 80p for HiPP and he would go a bit easier. I think it's something to do with the fact the formula is thinner and heat treated, but it always helped with any constipation issues.

Failing that, warm baths and massaging.

Totally gonna try that @buttmuncher as the massage and baths just don’t seem to make any impact.

Even massaging his feet is hopeless and that’s apparently a failsafe poop encourager
