Baby hungry but not eating

My 3mo is EBF, always eats continuously from 6pm to midnight and sleeps through to five or six. Tonight he is acting very hungry, chewing his hands, but is getting really upset every time I try to feed him. I've tried a few different positions, but he's only had five minutes in the last few hours whereas he's normally have had an hour on the breast at least by now.
Anyone experienced this?

Could he be teething? My DD was 3mo when she started and it started with her not feeding as much, I think because the teat of her bottle was irritating her gums when she was drinking? She was also chewing her hands constantly and getting upset when I was trying to feed her, though she is FF so it may be different!

Check his tongue and make sure he doesn't have thrush, this is how it started with my daughter at 3 months.
