Opinions on Tots Bots new style wraps please

I thought ds had some kind of reaction to tots wraps and as the old style quite often leaked I switched to motherease airflow. However for the last week these have been leaking and today I ran out of wraps so used the old tots ones. I'd forgotten that the fit seemed so much better than the airflows and ds didn't react to the binding so I was wondering if the new style ones have solved the problem of the wicking from the binding. Any opinions people have of the new wraps would be greatly appriciated thank you.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago, so I assume it is new style (never used them before) It was aqua with white stars. DS didn't keep it on long enough to see if he reacted as the velcro was tooeasy t undo. The only time he wore it with clothes over it, the bindings got wet and wicked onto his clothes.

I sold it and won't be buying any more

The new tots bots wraps are the only ones we use where we have a problem with leaks. Unfortunately if nappies aren't changed super-regularly (e.g. every 1-2 hrs) the binding does wick the moisture onto DS' clothes...boo hiss! Otherwise I'd love them

Wicking a real problem here, and I don't much like the fit of them either. Prefer nature babies, they feel less stiff & plasticky than tots. Airflows maybe leaking cos they're too small?

ceolas · 25/04/2007 21:47

The Mother ease rikki wrap is great. I think you need a bit of gusset in a wrap to stop wicking

tutu100 · 25/04/2007 23:11

Looks like they haven't solved the problem of wicking then. I won't try the new style. I think the problem with the airflows is that he's between holes on the legs (the middle one is too small and the last popper too big), I did think about getting the XL size to see if that would fit better round the leg but the L is still quite big round the wasit even on the smallest setting. I will have a look at the nature babies ones. I think we had one of those when he was smaller and it was fine. I have a rikki wrap but find the velcro on those always seems to rub his tummy so I don't often use it now. Thanks for all your comments, has anyone out there tried the new tots wrap and got good results? Just wondering.

the bambineo has leg gussets but a bit boring as just plain white but does the job.

claireybee · 26/04/2007 14:28

I find the new tots ok, and although it does sometimes wick the wicking seems to be contained to the binding and not really to her clothes...although if the nappy is saturated then obviously it goes onto her clothes too. The problem i have with them is that they are huge! I find it really difficult to get them tight enough around the legs without cutting her body in half!

Washersaurus · 26/04/2007 14:40

I also have to put the tots wrap on REALLY tightly around DS' waist to get it snug enough around his legs. I thought it was just a problem we had (due to DS being a weird shape or something) so didn't mention it before

I am trying out Nature Babies wraps now as an alternative to motherease wraps which have started to leave marks around DS' thighs.

Flamesparrow · 26/04/2007 15:32

The bambineos are gorgeously soft though

sammysam · 01/05/2007 11:43

Raah damn it
Was just about to buy some - we have the old ones but just assumed that the new leg bit would have sorted the wicking problem

At the mo we have all white and i love the bold simple designs of the new ones........now what?

maybe i'll get a couple of them and the rest of something else?

snugglebumnappies · 01/05/2007 12:02

sammysam, have to say I find them better than the old style tots wrap, however just put a small airflow on DS2 and remembered why I prefered them to the tots wrap. Love the nature babies wraps too but have to say their patterns aren't "simple"

suziesausage · 04/05/2007 21:22

Oh yes, I much prefer the Nature Babies Classic Wraps - the fit is great and never have a problem with wicking and the Motherease wraps, we love these too.

I do like the Tots funky fabrics though, but unless you change every 1/2hrs, I find they wick too
