Referral to paediatrician

I had my 8 week old ds at the doctors today and she has decided to refer him to the hospital paediatrician because of his flat head on one side and his ear on that side is also deformed. She said she'd mark it as urgent which worried me and I asked her if I should be concerned but she didn't really give me a straight answer.

So of course now I'm googling and worrying, I'm not looking for any medical advice but would be keen to hear if anyone has been through anything similar and what happened.

We got referred to the paediatrician for something else. In our case we were sure it was fine (and it was) but the GP was being extra cautious. I would imagine the urgent is that if there is an issue, it's best to get advice straight away. We were called and booked in very quickly. Hope it all turns out ok.

Thanks. I feel a bit better about it now. I've been worried about his ear but no one at the hospital or the community midwife or the HV mentioned it and so I just sort of put it to the back of my mind. Silly I know, but I told myself they would have brought it up if they thought there was a problem. At least now we'll find out if there is a problem or not.
