At what age is it not ok for DD to see daddy's weener??

Our DD is 20m and very attached to her daddy at the moment, she has to go everywhere with him, even the loo - its either that or full blown tantrum. Never really gave it any thought until last night when we went for a walk and she started imitating daddy having a wee, was pullig the front of her trousers and making wee noises,so cute - we were hysterical. But seriously, that does show she has been noticing things so will probably stop her from going into loo with dad. I guess if she were a boy there would have been a lot of proud "thats my boy" being muttered but cos she is a girl.........

Surely not being able to eat hot dogs is a good thing?

My DS1 often insists I have a 'furry willy' (e.g. pubic hair).

I don't think he's really got his head around the whole 'girls really don't have willies' thing.

FrannyandZooey · 25/04/2007 21:14

Ds had his vulva epiphany very young

he was calling it my furry bottom so I had to step in

NotQuiteCockney · 25/04/2007 21:16

I will have to move to 'vulva', won't I. I have been using 'bits', but it's a bit euphemistic, really. (We say 'willy' and 'balls' for his.)

A (male) friend was expressing his angst about what word to teach his DD, and I made a clear case for 'vulva', and I think I convinced him. Halo

Fiofios mum doesn't (apparently) have a willy. Well I do. So ds tells me. He likes to wee sitting down ( he is only 3.3), and says he must because "mummy does and she has willy"
I don't like this nonsense of not calling a willy, a willy.
Hathors words are fine. Others are not. Hot dog. Pleeeeeeease !

NotQuiteCockney · 25/04/2007 21:17

I think fiofio is protesting too much.

SweetyDarling · 25/04/2007 21:17

Goodness, my parents still walk around nude in front of me!!
It never bothered me at all, I was only focused on them not seeing me nude.
It will only be an "issue" if you make it one by hiding "bits" away.

harpsichordcarrier · 25/04/2007 21:17

hey oblomov, you have a willy too!
we are the willy sisters
sort of.

Oblomov · 25/04/2007 21:19

O.k. Harpsi, that's you , me and notquite. ANy others ?

Oblomov · 25/04/2007 21:19

Yeah, I'd love to be your willy sister

NotQuiteCockney · 25/04/2007 21:20

Mine may have disappeared, I'll have to ask DS1. It's all down to minge topiary (or lack thereof), I think, at least in my case.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/04/2007 21:22

Weener????

LOL Harpsi! Willies in this house too

mrsflowerpot · 25/04/2007 21:22

Dh baths and showers with both ds and dd - we both do - and we will both wander around naked until they are old enough to beg us to cover ourselves up I imagine.

DH and ds were in the shower the other night and the conversation went like this:

DS (age 6): Your willy is very very big, Daddy, isn't it?
DH

ScottishThistle · 25/04/2007 21:22

Weener sounds like something very small to me!

SweetyDarling · 25/04/2007 21:23

My cousin (at about 2YO) walked into the bathroom when his uncle was in the shower. He announced loudly "Daddy has one of those, but his is MUCH bigger!"
Needless to day Daddy was very proud!!

carol3 · 25/04/2007 21:23

never been an issue in our house before dh left.
until ds told all his friends including quite a few parents that when he grew up he was going to have a big willy like Dh and have lots of earings in it!

This a week after dd had told several parents dh was going to go to prison for getting naughty DVD's.

(someone at work had lent him a pirate dvd and he had said to her, don't tell all your friends or i'll go to prison!)

NotQuiteCockney · 25/04/2007 21:25

ST, I think 'weiner' is really the North American equivalent of 'willy'. It's not a sexy porny word, it's a kid's word. You wouldn't say, 'oh, big boy, bring your willy over here' would you? Not unless you were being a bit silly with it ...

Astrophe · 25/04/2007 21:25

DD is 3 and is fascinated by DH's willy - is constantly asking to see it and "Have you brought your will today Daddy?" To which DH replies "No I left in under my pillow" or similar. Today they were bathing together and she sat on his lap and exclaimed "Daddy, I'm sitting on your willy!" She thought it was hilarious, but poor DH was a little unnevred and very quickly put her back down her end of the bath!

ChasingSquirrels · 25/04/2007 21:25

ds1 in the supermarket one day aged about 2.5y announced to anyone who would listen that "my daddy had a great BIG WILLY".
Apparently I had a willy until he was about 3. I definately don't have one now.

Astrophe · 25/04/2007 21:27

oh, and during the same bath time she told DH he had boobies and asked him if he has a baby in his tummy! Poor DH! Think this will make him join the gym?

ChasingSquirrels · 25/04/2007 21:29

lol - its like the "you have got a great big bottom haven't you mummy" comments, out of the mouth of babes as they say.

Oblomov · 25/04/2007 21:32

I love willy stories. The innocence. Its so beautiful.

rabbleraiser · 25/04/2007 21:32

ChasingSquirrels, my son did that at exactly the same age (in my case, a week ago).

He was out on the common with his dad, and a lady came jogging past who stopped to talk to him.

He said, on parting, 'I haven't got a dog. But my daddy's got an enormous willy and I've got a baby one.'

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/04/2007 21:34

LOL Astrophe!

Glassofwine · 25/04/2007 21:35

DD1 - aged 7 indicated to dh a while ago that she wasn't comfortable seeing him naked, so he covers up now. Basically she came into our room in the morning and said 'yuk, Daddy I can see your willy - it's horrible'. It worried him that he should have been covering up earlier, but I don't think she's been seriously disturbed, but am pleased that she can say how she feels and we should respect that. Not sure about her diplomancy skills though

ChasingSquirrels · 25/04/2007 21:40

aww at the baby willy
