Potty training advice please!

DD who is 2.5 has been showing signs that she is ready to potty train. So we thought we'd give it a try, since starting yesterday morning she has managed 3 wee's on the potty.
She seems really scared to wee on the potty. She will cry & make us sit next to her holding her hand & asking for cuddles. We sit there chat, read books/sing songs. She sits there for ages but just will not go. Obviously the three times she has done a wee we really praised her etc. Every other time she has weed herself or the floor. It's like she is holding it for as long as possible as she walks round holding herself but she is too scared to go.

Really not sure what to do. Do i just keep at it or will this just make her fear worse? Any ideas anyone?

When we toilet trained, I set a timer for every 30 mins, if ds sat on potty got a sticker, if he done a wee he got 2. We got there eventually, he was fine with poos but it was the pees, God, he peed everywhere.
Def keep going don't give up. And some kids do have a fear of sitting on the potty, keep it fun and plenty cuddles and praise, good luck xc

Personally, I’d stop and try again another time. My DD got really anxious about the whole thing first time we tried and it was upsetting for all of us. A break for a short while seemed to work and she suddenly decided one day that she was going to wee on the potty and that was that. She was 2.5.

You might want to wait, no hurry, but I'd also do water play with the potty, pouring water into it, floating ducks in it, sometimes toddlers can be afraid of the splashing. And (separately obviously) get dolly/teddy to use the potty.
