10 week old - when to stop night feed/is this normal?

Hello

My baby is 10 weeks old. We’re formula feeding every 3-4 hours through the day and doing a dream feed at about 10.30-11pm. He then wakes about 3-4am for a feed.

He’s only taking about 70ml at the dream feed and 60ml at the 3-4am feed.

Lots of people in my NCT group are saying their babies are sleeping longer stretches (one from 10pm to 9am! Another 11pm to 7am!)

Is what I’m experiencing normal? Is there something I should be doing to encourage him to drop the night feed? I can’t help but compare myself and feeling a bit inadequate!

Thanks

I'm with mummaaksm, no point in lying, some babies wake lots, some sleep through. It's pot luck. She is ebf on demans and has slept pretty consistently 11/12pm - 7/8am since about 7 weeks. If she's hungry she'll wake, and I'll feed her. If she wants to sleep I'll. Let her sleep. She's healthy and gaining weight nicely. :) although I'm under no illusion that this will last. She has plenty of growth spurts to get through!

Sounds exactly the same as what mine was at 10 weeks. He's now 6 months and gors to bed at about 7.00pm, has a feed at about 2.30am and gets up about 6.30-7.00am.

Your group friends either have very unusual babies or they are stretching the truth. Every baby I know has night fed wayyyyy longer than 10 weeks!

If it makes you feel any better arbrighton he likes to throw a curve ball every week or so and wake up furiously for an extra at about 11pm. There's no set cause for it though so I assume he just likes to keep us on our toes!

Thanks winter! I truly believe every baby is different and in the end will basically do what they want haha so just to go with it!

Posted to early!!....
The point of my comment was that it wasn't through trying or anything I did differently it's just whet he's decided to do for now, and I'm sure it'll change again, but I'm just going with what he wants and would never ever deny him a feed if he woke for it

My 16mo breastfeeds twice a night, minimum.

I think you're fine at 10 weeks... Hmm

Yeah me too mummaaksm, she's my first so I am very much 'winging it'. Haha!
