Toddler kicking and slapping

Anyone else's toddler do this? He doesn't do it hard but sometimes when he is getting told off he'll kick the air and get closer then make contact. He hasn't learnt it from me or daddy so god knows where they pick it up. He's nearly 3.....

Mine does it too. He’s 2. I have no answers, he kicks, bites, scratches and he definitely doesn’t see any violence between me and dp or on the tv.

I have no idea what to do about it, it seems like he does it more when tired so I try to prevent it and I always say no, mostly in a calm voice. But I occasionally cry out which he finds funny. That makes him sound like a psychopath, he’s a lovely boy but I’m hoping that all toddlers are psychopaths and he’ll grow out of it.

I do get hugely anxious when he gets near the other kids at playgroup, but so far we’ve been ok. Most members of my side of the family have been bitten though Blush.

Plus it really fucking hurts.

I'm hoping it's "just toddlers" too. He's hasn't bitten me yet but has bitten daddy. My mum said I bit her when I was little and she bit me back. I wouldn't go that far! It really is frustrating isn't it. Like you said otherwise he is a loving little boy but jeez with the kicking 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

I know if I tell anyone he bites, they say ‘bite back, I did and they didn’t do it again’ but I just can’t do that.

My boy is going to have to get sent to his room or the naughty step as he's doing it pretty much all the time. It seems to be the only way he learns
