My MSc is due on 31/01
I've done 5400 words 🤦🏼‍♀️
Word limit is 20,000

I know I know!!!!!!!!

I have 2 child free weekends between now and submission although I currently have flu and have been in bed for 3 days

I have all my articles I just need to extract the data and write it up

Any advice, arse kicking, motivational stories would be great Smile

Blimey. Skin of the teeth job, this isn’t it? Although potentially not too bad if you’ve done the hard yards of reading and research and know what you’re writing, you’ve just got to commit it to paper.

So long as that is the case, it should be fine. Though phrases like ‘extract data’ and ‘two free weekends’ are a bit scary. They suggest more work than just writing up and significantly less (real) time than 26 days to do it in.

You need to make a plan and stick to it. Call in childcare favours and commit to writing X thousand words a day. Don’t forget to factor in time for editing and don’t leave submission to the 11th hour, just in case.

Best of luck Flowers

Are you expecting to write the remaining 14,000 words+, check/edit/format it in the two free weekends (four days)?

It depends on how fast a worker you are and how well you work under pressure, I suppose, but it seems like a big push to me.

If you can be proactive and just get on with it NOW. Work out how long you need to check/edit etc and then work from there. Factor in any big occasions where you know you can’t study. You should know then how many days you have to get it done. Then work out how many words a day you have to write to reach your goal. No pain, no gain.

I’m not trying to make you feel scared but you just need to stop procrastinating and get on with it. Make time.

You.need.an.extension.

Sorry but you absolutely do (unless you've already had one?)

Doing all your Harvard referencing will take at least 2 days and as it's your dissertation I assume for an MSc (i'm currently doing an MSc and am pregnant with a child also myself so i do feel you) then it's a huge % of your overall mark. It determines basically what you get for the whole 1/2 years work up to now. Honestly I cant imagine how tough it's been with you being so poorly and i'm really sorry to be so honest (probably blunt) but you really need to speak to your institution, just for literally a 3 week extension and then you could really hand in a polished and well researched and referenced dissertation.

Beg borrow steel (lie!) you've worked to hard to hand in anything sub standard op. I believe in you, you can do it!

I've done my referencing as I go along so it's pretty tight
It certainly won't take 2 days to go over

Plus I've already had 2 extensions so unless I die no chance of getting another Grin
