I have a 3yr 4 month old boy and a 19 month old girl. They go to a lovely day nursery 2 days a week, 8-5ish while I work. DH works full time, and no local family to help. My DD is fine. Loves nursery, no issues.
My DS is the opposite. He loved his old room, but at 3 he changed to the pre-school room and since then we have tears. He wakes up and asks if he has to go to nursery, if we say no, he's fine and happy. If we say yes it's a nursery day, he starts crying and doesn't stop until he's dropped off and we leave. He says he doesn't like nursery. He has friends, he likes the food and activities. I think it might just be separation anxiety, but I have no idea what to do!
Googled the query and looked on other forums which suggested changing nurseries (no other local ones) using a childminder (not comfortable with as I know someone who was mistreated by a cm and I simply couldn't concentrate at work as I'd be worrying) or giving up work (need to pay the mortgage somehow!)
I'd have hoped he'd have settled in the new room by now as he joined in mid September.
Anyone been in a similar boat and found a resolution??
