10wk old baby’s crib getting too small- recommendations for cot?

I have a 10wk old baby who has been sleeping in our room in a crib since coming home from Hospital. However, he is quite a long baby and will soon outgrow the crib.

We want to keep him in with us until he is at least 6 months old, but don’t have space in our room for a cot bed.

What have others done in this situation? Any advice would be appreciated. We were thinking maybe a next to me or small cot but don’t want to spend loads on something he’ll only use for a few months. Thanks.

We have a snuzpod which we have found to be good. Our little girl is long and 20weeks old and there is still growing room.
Could you look on selling sites and just buy a new mattress to keep the costs down?

A lot of people go for the IKEA cot. Small and cheap

Chicco lullago -I had the original one and it last until 7 months with my tall ds. Had to stop using it then as he learnt to pull himself up to sitting. There is another one (lullago zip) now that is more expensive that unzips to give more hight but I’m not sure if it’s worth it as i can’t work out whether it’s longer.

Dd was in a next2me until she was 6 months old- she probably could have stayed in it for longer tbh. Would definitely recommend.

Buy one second hand and get a new mattress and/or buy one and sell it on- there always seem to be loads for sale online

Ikea cot. No need to spend lots.

Thanks everyone, I’ll have a look into all of these. Happy new year! 🥂
