Need help with 6mo sleep

Two issues. Firstly baby is hyperactive, teething, maybe some reflux issues, now he can't calm down or sleep on his own without a sling.

This wouldn't be such a big problem for us (we love carrying him) except that it leads to issue 2, we can't create a bedtime routine for him in the sling. His bedtime (when he sleeps 4-5h straight) is getting later and later, now it is 3am. We put him in his sling/crib when he's tired, but he'll only sleep for 20 mins, treating it like a nap! Then he's up for a couple hours.

We can't seem to find a way for him to relax - he's always wriggling, groaning, needing attention. Everything is stimulating - bath, books, songs. He only calms down in the sling.

Can anyone offer advice? The only vague hope I have is that as he starts to move around independently and crawl, he'll burn off some of the excess energy. And that weaning will shake things up too and possibly help him sleep better.

If he likes the comfort of the sling, have you tried swaddling him?

He's almost 6 months and rolling - I thought it wouldn't be safe at this stage?

6 month sleep regression was awful. Have you tried holding him to sleep. We still do this now at 19 months.
