10 month old and Christmas chocolate?

Hi, DM bought 10 month old DS loads of chocolate for Christmas. DS has never had chocolate and doesn't have refined sugar. She bought huge pouch of chocolate buttons, tube of milky bar buttons and loads of Aldi diary fine bars of chocolate (x20.) and some other stuff! I thought it was ridiculous to get that for a 10 month old baby. I feel it's not up to her when to buy ds chocolate unless she knows he's having it as me and dh haven't been done that ourselves yet. She didn't ask me before buying it and I feel like it's not something she should have done. I'm not very happy at DM. AIBU?

Got to admit at first I thought you were being abit ott but then I realised you sound just like me. I struggle with a narcissistic mother so I completely get where you're coming from when you say it's her having to have that little bit of control over you.
Personally I would say thanks, bite my tongue and just lie, which is exactly what I've learned to do over the years to keep the peace when it comes to someone who is like that.
You do have every right to be angry though, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. To some you're overreacting but this sounds like the tip of a shit covered iceberg.
Don't let it ruin your Christmas though and try not to dwell on it, if you're angry at her she's in your head controlling you without even trying.
Giving it to a food collection sounds like a good idea x
