Obsessed with newborn

I am a mother to a 9 year old and a 5 week old, I feel obsessed with my newborn and feel anxious whenever anybody holds or feeds him, I can't remember feeling this way on my first born. I worry this feeling isn't normal.

Hi @Jadeymart
Didn’t want to read and run...
I felt this one million percent with my first... just had second (16wks) and am not too fussy this time! But it can be totally normal! I hated the thought of anyone doing anything with my first apart from me and hubby. I was exhausted but wouldn’t even let family watch him downstairs while I went up to sleep as I just couldn’t settle. Just keep an eye on how you’re feeling and if anxiety worsens or continues for lengthy period please speak to HV or GP.
Good luck and congratulations on your new baby!

I was the same so I think it's completely normal and you do get less 'possesive' over time. I just wanted to be with my DD all the time and hated handing her over to people. Silly really but it's how I felt!

I think as long as it eases over time then you're okay.

I think it’s pretty natural. Your instincts are telling you to keep your baby close and that’s normal.
