Happy Christmas Eve!
I have a poorly 2 month old who has a cold and cough :(
How do I get him to swallow his calpol? He just spits it out! I have tried giving to him half way through his milk but doesn't work!

OH gosh. A tiny bit at a time, put under tongue/into cheek, lean him back a bit so gravity helps.

I saw this, my dd is too old to try it so haven’t tested it myself but it might help! Hope he feels better soon Smile does he have a temperature?

A quick blow in the face once you put it in his mouth a bit at a time can help, in a lot of babies/toddlers the instinct is then to swallow Smile

Thank you so much guys I'll try them all! And no temperature... just a cough and blocked nose :( took him to docs yesterday and had him checked over and she said just a cold... he had had nose drops which help a bit... he's just so grouchy bless him

Go to the pharmacy and buy a baby syringe (about 50p) if you don’t have one already - put it in the baby’s mouth so they can taste the end so they know it’s nice - the gradually squirt little bits into their cheek (although mine seems to squirt the whole lot in one go no matter how gentle I am and she gets a bit of a surprise lol... when she does spit bits out I try and can’t it with my (clean) finger and let her suck it back.

My 11 week old is exactly the same, as we just use the syringe to give it to him very slowly, he's on nose drops at the moment and also baby Vicks on his chest and throat before he goes to bed. Hope he feels better soon, we're on day 4 Sad

Thanks guys! And bless you lion! Hope you little one is on the mend! And yes we have a syringe but like you said it squirts the whole thing at once!
Yesterday though, we cut a big hole in his dummy filled it with calpol and it worked a treat! Slept 12 hours last night bless him!!
