Wind issues!!

Has anyone got any top tips for alleviating wind in my little girl whos 10 week old? She goes through really windy stages where shes up most of the night pushing and straining with trapped wind! I've tried preventing the wind before it gets to this stage but really struggling.

Have tried colief, colactase, dentinox colic drops, infacol and gripe water. Currently using gripe water in the bottle which does give some effective burps but clearly not enough! Help! Xmas Hmm I struggle to get her to swallow anything other than milk (c&g anti-reflux)

Thank you!

I learned some infant massage and it helps. It’s not magic but I think it makes a difference.

I moved to lactose free formula. But his wind and writhing was making him miserable and preventing him sleeping properly. GP prescribed and from Boots (on gp advice).

It does get better! It takes around 12 weeks for them to start learning how to pass it easier Smileone thing that helped us was the “tiger in the tree” hold, and doing lots of tummy time with the knees bent under neath if that makes sense! So sort of foetal position but face down Smile

Yy to tummy massage, there are some vids on YouTube, same with the “tiger in the Tree”. Are you using anti colic bottles too?

MrsGB2225 · 22/12/2017 12:57

Laura does your little girl have reflux as well? My son has reflux so we do the tiger hold but only when he's already struggling with the wind. If I did that after a feed, the feed would come up.

laura1247 · 22/12/2017 15:20

Yeah we've got the Dr Brown anti-colic bottles! Yeah MrsGB2225 she has colic and reflux! Seemed to be winning the battle but now back at square one! Will try the tiger hold! Thank you all! Xx

We went dairy free (EBF) and had 3 sessions with a cranial osteopath, not sure which one it was or whether it was both that made the difference but so much better afterwards. Maybe try a lacto free formula if possible as pp tried?
