Christmas Eve box

Hi

My son is 14 months so not his first Christmas. But this year I've decided to start a Christmas Eve box for him.

I know people are going to love it or hate it, and I know he's still quite young but I've decided to start it now.

Anyway, I've put the night before Christmas book in there to read to him before bed, the snowman and the snowman and the snowdog DVD's. A Christmas sleepsuit, a snowman chocolate lolly, a paper plate for snacks and drink for santa, his card from us and his letter from Santa.

From what I've read others are saying it's from the elves but I wanted to make this from us? Also I saw someone had wrapped them up, im not keen on this either as the book and DVD will go in there every year so to unwrap the same thing every year becomes a bit silly to me. Obviously as he gets older some of the contents will change but does this sound ok? And what are others doing?

We’re doing this for the baby and older DD; I was going to say it was from us (not heard the elves thing) and was going to find a nice box/wrap a shoebox with it all in but not wrap each item. I like the idea of the same book. We’re also doing pjs for us so it’s a family thing.

I think it's a nice tradition to do. I haven't brought a special Christmas Eve box, I brought a santa "gift" box from the card factory for £3.99. It's big too! Can't say it will last but I want to buy I nice robust one in a few years

We have a 4 year old and a 5 month old . I'm lucky my OH is handy with woodwork as when my DD was little he hand made a xmas eve box and is painted a deep red with a gold bow so looms like a present. Hopefully it will last.

The box is big enough for the 2 of them . They have the usual pjs. Xmas story and film etc we also had personalised christmas eve mugs with their names on for hot coco. I know my 5 month is to small this year but will be a nice tradition x

I just love this! I am 20 and every Christmas Eve since I can remember my mum would give us all a brand new set of pyjamas to put on! I still look forward to it every year although now I have my own LO I assume I'll have to buy my own set of new pjs (insert mega sad face). I have seen some Facebook pages selling personalised Christmas Eve boxes that are wooden which might be better than unwrapping the same things every year. My LO is only 3months so it will be something I look forward to starting next year. I think your ideas of what to put in sound great!

I used to get given pjs, a video, and a colouring book\pens. That’s what my son gets ☺️ Well we do DVD’s now

Oh & a new Christmas bauble

I've only ever done elf on the shelf this year ds1 is 11 and ds2 is 6. I've never done a box at all either its always been pjs, dressing gown and slippers but found different ways for the dss to find them or elves to drop it off. This year on Christmas even morning our elf will be sitting on top go a small pile of presents. The usual for the boys a few games and a DVD for everyone to enjoy. Years ago I did it from me but the elf idea about 7 years ago sealed more magical to them so I stuck with it.

Loving all of your replies. It seems a big hit with everyone. My partner said last night he had never heard of a Christmas Eve box and it's weird giving him presents before Christmas. I just explained that they arnt presents as much as they are just for the experience and excitement lol, think he's happy leaving me to it 😂

I have decided to wrap his sleepsuit and a little snow dog teddy that I have put in his box. The rest I have left unwrapped. Seems I have created a theme, unintentionally
