Getting DD 3yrs to poo on the toilet

DD has been potty trained for 4 months but will still only poo in her nappy. She tells me when she needs to go and then I have to put a nappy on and she goes in her bedroom and calls me once she is finished.

Ive tried getting her to do it on the toilet but she gets hysterical. Ive also put the potty in her room for her . I think its the thought of pooing sitting down that she doesnt like but not sure.

I dont know how worried to get over this or if i should just leave her poo in the nappy if it keeps her happy. any tips on getting her to use the toilet?

If you put a nappy in a potty (are you still with me?)then try to get her to poo (whilst sitting on the potty), it might help as I'm told it's a very different sensation (pooing and having it fall away from you) to the going in a nappy.

Worked for my gorgeous gal!

Ive tried that and she gets hysterical and screams the place down. Last night I told her we had run out of nappies and she had to use the potty, after 12 mins of crying I just left her to it and found her 10 mins after pooing in her baby brothers nappies that she had found. She had put it on herself to poo in.
