how long does lactulose take to work????

dont know if this is in the correct section but i was just wondering does anyone know how long lactulose takes to work i gave it my son at 3pm today he is very constipated and has asd so getting anything like prune juice down him is a no no

It took about a day and a half with my ten year old - but certainly did the trick!

I have used it with ds, and would agree quite quickly, within a day or two.
