3.5 year old pooing in pants

We've been potty training DD for 8 weeks or so, first couple of weeks were great. Now doing great with wees, one or two accidents a week when very distracted. But at the moment she's doing up to 4 poos a day in her pants. She will happily poo on the potty at home, once or twice has on our toilet but not anywhere else. She won't tell me she needs to poo, but will tell me after sometimes. Sometimes she doesn't tell me.

I've been trying a very gentle "oh dear next time in the potty" but it doesn't seem to help. Tried star charts or treats as rewards but she doesn't seem to get it.

She's very clever girl, but behind with her speach and I don't know if she actually understands me half the time. What can I do? I can't cope with all the pooey pants!

Dd took several months to click with poos, she just didn't seem to know they were coming. No magic answer, just clicked one day

4 a day seems a lot. Was she doing that many in nappies or could she have a bug perhaps?

4 poos a day (wherever they land up) doens't sound normal to me.

You have my sympathy though - potty training can be a trial. But at 3.5 years she should be well ready for it.
