Worried about dd weight & height

She's just turned two so I know I shouldn't worry but she is noticeably "chubbier" than her peers. Had her 2 year review and she's dropped from 50th to 2nd centile for height and has stayed on 50th for weight. So do you think she's just due a growth spurt? I'm pretty chilled with food and try to offer her lots of healthy stuff, she does love carbs though! And treats of course although I do limit these obviously, anyone had any experience with this?

No scientific basis to this (at all!) but I remember that my girls always seemed to grow "out" and then grow "up". So they went through stages of chubbing out and then grew up.

Thank you, hopefully that's it! Smile

Ds was a chubby baby. Once he become more active and start walking/running a lot, he started to shoot up and became less chubby. Now he is very very skinny.
If she has healthy diet(which sounds like she does), and happy, I am sure it's all fine.

Mine have always grown out just before they gre up too. I’d leave it until the Spring then have another look.

Thanks all, my instincts tell me she's fine, I know her diet and I honestly think it's ok! We go out every day so she does get exercise too.

I'll chill for a bit. I'll probably miss that squidginess once it's gone!

DS was the same, he was a really chubby fat baby & early toddler, now at 6.5 he is super skinny and eats like you wouldn't believe!

Ah that's good to hear, my dh is really stressing about it! I'm sure things will even themselves out.

I agree that she is probably due a growth spurt. Do keep an eye on it though, just in case it’s not. These things are much easier to tackle when she’s young and you spot it early.

DS was a chunky monkey at that age. Now, at 7, he is all sparrow legs and really is (healthily) skinny.
