When to change teat/flow?

Can anyone help with how do you know when to change tear size/flow when ff? Our lo is 4 weeks old and we are Using the tommee tippee comfort bottles. On the slow flow ones he is smacking his lips, looks exhausted and out of breath, falling asleep, getting windy and can easily take an hour for a feed.

Tried the medium flow ones a few times to give it a go. Couple of times have been great solving all the problems and a much happier baby. Couple of times he's spat it all out like it's too much too fast. Then tonight he's kept bringing bits up for at least an hour after his feed which had otherwise gone well. He's sat upright in our arms so not lying him down as that has caused problems with sicking bottles back up.

Anyone any experience/advice?

Also watching this with interest...

I have a 11 week old and the new teets start from next week but she has only just started to feed really well/bringing up wind so don’t know when to change.

Hi, sorry I may not be much help. My LO was prem so was told to start off on the medium flow teats as the slow flow were too much work for him. Almost 7 months and we are still on the same teat.
Is it possible your LO is being a greedy monster and drinking more than they need? I cut down my sons bottles a little and he wouldn't bring
Up as much

Ooh thanks good idea we'll try and reduce the amount and see how that goes. It's so confusing! Most brands say medium flow from a month old but TT say 3 months?! It'd take a week to feed him at that point Hmm

Well my prem baby did well with them when we went onto them at about 2 Months.
It may mean you might need to feed an extra time or something in the day with reducing amount but it worked for me :) x
