If she already has a lot of ‘stuff’, how about an ‘experience’ type of present? Eg MIL could pay for you to take DD2 to baby signing or swimming lessons?

I’d struggle to think of a present over £30 so as above a course of swimming lessons or baby sensory would be great for baby and you.
If not then is there any furniture you need for baby’s room

My babies really loved their jumperoo between 6 months and a year.

Might not be wha your MIL is looking to do but my dad got my my DD £100 of premium bonds. It avoids the 'stuff' problem and of course you never know, your DD may get lucky'

Agree with the swimming or similar.
