Argh, please help - 6 month old won't stop screaming...

... she's not upset, hungry, tired, needing changing, in pain (as far as I can tell). She is just pretty much constantly screaming at the top of her voice to the point where my ears are really sore! She is playing and smiling and seems generally happy but my head feels like it'll explode with the high pitched noise. It was so loud that she set the window motion sensor alarm off this afternoon.

Tried everything I can think of to distract but as I say, she seems happy and is still playing etc - I'm at my wits end.

If anyone has any ideas as to why she's doing it or how to stop it I'd be very, very grateful.

She’s probably doing it because she’s found out she can and it’s getting on your nerves 🙂. Has she stopped yet?

Look on the bright side, at least she's not saying 'Whhhhyyyyyyyy?'
Wait til that delightful phase!! Grin

Or rolling her eyes and slamming doors. Can you tell I’ve got a preteen? 🙂

Agree she's probably testing her voice, my LG (7mo) started doing something similar for about a week or so but now it's stopped. She would wave her arms or bang het hands while shouting really REALLY loudly. Glad she's got over it now!

All bloody day it's gone on - only stopped when she went to bed! I'm currently trying to regain my hearing and am seriously considering ear plugs for tomorrow if she keeps it up. It's so exhausting for us both. I have a 15 year old daughter too and she never tested her voice like this! Let's hope she finds a new, much quieter sound to practice tomorrow before I lose the plot - don't think I can take a week of it!
